WHY A WORLD TOUR
MAKING NET ZERO
HAPPEN.
The transport sector is one of the biggest contributors to global emissions. It's also heading in the wrong direction, vehicles are getting bigger and bigger (and pretty boring too) - this is coming from a car-obsessed engineer - just one that doesn't like where the automotive industry is heading and decided to take action and build something to change it.
My aim with the Elecy has been to provide an overall upgrade over driving - for those short solo journeys which are already perfect for cycling, for which cars (especially SUVs) are overkill.
To bring the Elecy into the mainstream market, I needed to do three things simultaneously: test it properly, inspire perception change, and fund production without VC.
The world tour lets me achieve all three!
01 TEST IT
30,000 km across every terrain and climate. The most rigorous real-world engineering test I could fathom.
02 PROVE IT
Inspire the global perception change, inspiring you to drive less and cycle more. Demonstrating that cycling can be an overall upgrade over driving - through action.
03 FUND IT
Micromobility companies that raise VC funding go bankrupt - The timelines don't align. This is too important to risk so I'm funding it unconventionally, through partnership, not debt.
